The new generation Toyota Camry, featuring significant changes across the board, will be launched in India on December 11.
The outgoing model is priced at Rs 46.17 lakh (ex-showroom), and the new Toyota Camry is likely to have a starting price of about Rs 50 lakh (ex-showroom).
While Toyota has not disclosed all the details about India-spec new-generation Camry, we expect it to come with a panoramic sunroof, powered and ventilated front seats, and dual 12.3-inch displays. Plus, it could get ADAS, 9-speaker JBL sound system, wireless phone charger, USB Type-C and and Type-A ports, and dual-zone climate control.
It can accommodate up to 5 passengers, including the driver.
The India-spec new Camry is expected to get the same updated powertrain as the model sold globally with a 2.5-litre 4-cylinder petrol engine paired with a small battery and two electric motors producing a combined output of 225 PS. Toyota may also equip the new Camry with an all-wheel drive system for the Indian market, which increases the total power output to 232 PS.
The ninth-generation Camry comes equipped with advanced safety features, including advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS). The India-spec model could also get multiple airbags, hill hold assist, electronic stability programme, emergency steering assist, acceleration suppression, pre-collision system, and ADAS.
Once launched, the new Camry will go against the Skoda Superb.
